CPA Experts McAllen AlternativeCPA McAllen, a week across the river
A busy week at the bridges still has to become a month the bank agrees with.
Name the trade
On a week the bridge is busy
For a lot of owners, the week that needs books is a produce week or a retail Saturday. The city sits at the southern tip of the state, with the river to the south and Reynosa on the other bank. We do not claim a lane on either bridge. We work with owners in the city remotely, and the close is still a close.
The McAllen Foreign Trade Zone was commissioned in 1973 and was the first inland zone of its kind in the country, with another site at the airport for air cargo. That history matters if your costs land in a zone and your sales land somewhere else. The books have to show which is which, or the month lies in a way that is hard to unwind.
What the week does to the books
A busy crossing week throws off deposits, card batches, and sometimes cash that arrived in a different currency of habit if not of law. We do not invent a method for that. We tie what hit the bank to what you sold, and we leave a note where the two refuse to meet. The note is better than a plug.
Wholesale, clinics, shops, and kitchens do not share a chart of accounts, and they should not. A produce buyer and a dentist both need a month that matches the bank. They do not need the same categories. We build the chart around how the money is actually made, then we stop tinkering with it.
Personal money that lands in the business account is the quiet problem. It feels helpful on a Friday and it looks like income on the return. We pull it out of income while the month is open. That single habit saves more arguments than any clever entry.
The feeling of the place, and the work beside it
Every Texan knows the river is the edge of the state here, even those of us whose own week happens far to the north. We can respect that edge without pretending we stand on it. When you watch the trucks and the weekend shoppers, you feel the town working. We look at the same week and ask which deposits still need a home before we call the month finished.
Tariffs and crossing rules move, and a website is a bad place to pretend yesterday's headline is today's law. What does not move is the need for the books to match the cash. If a cost changed because a rule changed, the books should show the cost you actually paid, with the paperwork you actually have.
If the week was too messy to close, we say that. A late close that is true beats an early close that is a wish. The return can wait for the truth. It should not be asked to invent it.
How to start if the trade crosses
Tell us what you sell, which side of the river the work sits on, and the last month you trust. If inventory is the hard part, say so. If it is sales tax on the local counter, the sales page is the one to read next. If it is rooms, the room night page is the one.
We will not claim we run a warehouse. We will claim we can close a month with you on a screen, with the books shared, on the day we agreed.
The city is bordered by Granjeno, Mission, Palmhurst, Alton, Edinburg, Pharr, and Hidalgo, with Reynosa across the river. A delivery that crosses one of those city lines can change the sales tax answer, and a delivery that crosses the river can change the cost. We do not stand at either line. We ask which side the sale happened on, and we book it there.
Inventory that arrives in a rush and sells before the invoice does is the week that breaks a casual set of books. We leave the receipt in the month the customer paid, and we leave the cost in the month you actually incurred it, even when those two months disagree. The disagreement is a note. It is never a plug.
The month you can name
Tell us the trade and the last month the bank already agrees with.
